Yamaha Flanger FL-01

The Yamaha FL-01 Flanger is a compact pedal that generates its sweeping comb-filter effect by mixing the dry signal with a delayed copy of itself, where the delay time is modulated by an internal low-frequency oscillator. Its Rate control sets the speed of that modulation, determining how quickly the flanging sweep cycles from a subtle shimmer to a pronounced, jet-like whoosh. The Depth control adjusts the intensity of the delay-time variation, making the sweep wider and more dramatic at higher settings. A Feedback knob regenerates a portion of the effected signal back into the input, increasing the resonance and metallic character of the flanging, while a Manual control shifts the center delay time, altering the pitch and phase relationship of the comb filter to produce different tonal colors. The pedal features a standard bypass switch that routes the signal cleanly when disengaged, and it operates on a 9-volt battery or an optional DC adapter, with input and output jacks for mono connection.
