The PSK Core Drive CDV-5 combines overdrive and distortion in a single compact pedal, with a control layout that lets the user blend between the two gain characters. A Drive knob sets the overall amount of gain, increasing harmonic saturation and compression as it is turned up. The Tone control shapes the high-frequency response, rolling off treble when turned counterclockwise and adding brightness when turned clockwise. A Level knob adjusts the output volume, allowing the pedal to boost or cut the signal relative to the bypassed level. The pedal's two-stage gain structure means that at lower Drive settings it behaves like a transparent overdrive, while higher settings push into more saturated distortion territory. It operates on standard 9V DC power and features true bypass switching, ensuring that when the effect is disengaged, the guitar signal passes through unaffected.
