The Fender Starcaster Flanger is a pedal that creates a sweeping, jet-like sound by mixing the dry signal with a delayed copy whose delay time is modulated by an internal low-frequency oscillator. Its Rate control sets the speed of the modulation sweep, while Depth adjusts how much the delay time varies, making the effect more or less pronounced. A manual or delay-time control shifts the center point of the sweep, altering the character of the flanging from a subtle shimmer to a deep, hollow comb-filtering effect. The pedal also includes a regeneration or feedback control that feeds some of the effected signal back into the input, intensifying the resonance and creating a more metallic, resonant tone. It operates with a standard 9V DC power supply and features a true bypass footswitch to preserve the dry signal when the effect is disengaged.
