The Aria ADT-1 Distortion pedal uses a single distortion control to set the amount of gain applied to the input signal, ranging from a mild crunch to a heavily saturated distortion. A separate level control adjusts the output volume, allowing the pedal to boost or cut the signal relative to the bypassed guitar sound. The tone control shapes the high-frequency content, making the distorted sound brighter or darker. The pedal is housed in a compact metal enclosure with a standard footswitch for engaging and bypassing the effect, and it operates on a 9-volt battery or an optional DC power supply. Input and output jacks are provided for mono connection in a signal chain.
