The Ross Phase R1 is an analog phaser pedal that sweeps a series of phase-shifted filters across the signal to create a swirling, jet-like modulation. Its Rate control sets the speed of the sweep, from slow, subtle undulations to fast, dramatic whooshing. Depth adjusts the intensity of the phase shift, determining how pronounced the sweeping effect is in the mix. A Feedback control, when turned up, regenerates a portion of the effected signal back into the circuit, adding resonance and a more pronounced, vocal-like character to the sweep. The pedal features a single footswitch for engaging and bypassing the effect, with true bypass preserving the dry signal when off. It operates on a standard 9V DC power supply, with a red LED indicator showing when the effect is active. The compact, rugged enclosure is designed for pedalboard use, and the straightforward control layout allows for quick adjustments of the phaser's character.
