The Guyatone PS-001 Distortion is a compact pedal that generates a heavily saturated, high-gain distortion tone. Its Distortion control sets the amount of gain and harmonic saturation, ranging from a mild crunch to a dense, aggressive wall of sound. The Tone control shapes the high-frequency content, allowing the user to brighten or darken the distorted signal. A Level control adjusts the output volume, which can be used to boost or cut the signal relative to the bypassed guitar level. The pedal features a single footswitch for engaging and bypassing the effect, with true bypass operation ensuring the guitar signal remains uncolored when the effect is off.
