The DOD 670 Flanger generates its sweeping comb-filter effect through a single Rate control that sets the speed of the modulation LFO, while a Regen knob adjusts the amount of regenerated signal fed back into the delay line, intensifying the metallic, jet-like swoosh as it is increased. A Delay control shifts the base delay time, altering the spacing between the comb-filter notches and changing the character of the sweep from a subtle shimmer to a more pronounced, hollow phase-like tone. The Mix control blends the dry guitar signal with the effected signal, allowing for anything from a subtle thickening to a full wet flange. The pedal features a standard bypass footswitch that routes the input directly to the output when disengaged, preserving the dry signal path. It operates on a standard 9-volt DC power supply, with a single input and output jack for mono use.
